What’s in a name?

I thought I should explain why I chose the name “The Flip Flop Barnyard” for my blog. Well, it’s quite simple, I am somewhat of a flip flop wearing maniac. I’m not an actual maniac, I just wear flip flops all of the time, even in the barnyard. I often refer to myself as the flip flop farmer. Do I know better than to do chores in flip flops? Yes, I do. Yet, I find myself outside feeding ponies, feeding pigs (I might lose my toes to this), gardening, checking for eggs, and pretty much everything in flip flops. I am pretty sure my flip flop tan is now permanent but that’s ok, it’s kind of cute.

The more I thought about my wearing flip flops the more I related it to my whole philosophy in life. I like things to be simple. Flip flops are pretty much as simple as it gets as far as shoes go. Simplifying things is always my goal in life. Simple doesn’t always mean easy and what is simple to me may seem complex to someone else. We stay pretty busy around here and we do a lot of hard work so making things as simple as possible is pretty important to me. That pretty much sums up the name and a general philosophy of mine. I hope this helps to give you a better understanding of who I am.
