Displaced by Hurricane Michael

This is just a quick note to let everyone know that we are ok. Hurricane Michael wiped out our entire community and region. We live just outside of Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach, Fl. The economy has been wiped out and lives have been turned upside down. With no electricity and no work, we will be relocating back to SW Virginia.

We’ve been asked by many people what we need at this point. We are really almost out of money so financial donations are what will help us the most right now. We will be living in our little 20 foot camper (yes, all 10 of us) until Derek can get steady income and we can find a place.

We are extremely humbled and have to swallow our pride to even ask for help. We just don’t have any other options at this point. We cannot even begin to express the gratitude we feel for everyone’e prayers, support, and donations. God bless all of you.

Pray for the panhandle, so many have lost so much. This is heart shattering and hard to even fathom.

For those feeling led to donate, we have Paypal and Venmo.

Just an idea. I’ve seen GoFundMe help a lot of people. I’m sure they can help you guys as well. I get it, the PayPal and Venmo are more immediate, but you should also set up a GoFundMe for possible future use. Keep your head up.

By the way, I’m going to try to get a venmo account set up and shoot you a little something.
